From Intake to Resolution

Once a whistleblowing report comes in, how you respond can make or break both regulatory compliance and employee trust. The EU Whistleblower Directive requires timely acknowledgement, confidentiality, and impartial follow-up - yet investigations often stumble due to poor triage, inconsistent processes, or overlooked red flags.

This session focuses on what “good” looks like in whistleblower investigations. We’ll walk through the end-to-end lifecycle: intake, risk assessment, case assignment, evidence gathering, interviews, documentation, and closure. Special attention will be given to common red flags that derail investigations - such as bias in fact-finding, retaliation risks, mishandling of personal data (GDPR conflicts), and failure to meet mandated deadlines.

Attendees will leave with practical frameworks to:

• Strengthen investigation protocols
• Spot and address red flags early
• Build defensible processes that hold up under scrutiny from regulators, courts, and stakeholders
